Camping and campgrounds are one of the most popular areas of this web site. And for good reason. What better way to spend your nights in Ohiopyle than out under the stars enjoying the outdoors of Ohiopyle State Park.

This series of articles is goig to detail each and every campground and camping area in and around the park.

Campgrounds in Ohiopyle State Park

There is one campground in Ohiopyle State Park. The Kentuck Knob campground is located in Ohiopyle on the road heading towards Bruner Run. This campground has alot of campsites. A few of them are even secluded. They require a short walk to camp at them. The campground does have many rules including no alcohol. Make sure that you follow the park’s rules while in the campground or you may be asked to leave.

Benner’s Meadow Run Campground

Benner’s Camping is located just south of Ohiopyle in Farmington Pa. You can get to Ohiopyle within 10 minutes. Activities at Benner’s Campground include a swimming and wading pool, miniature golf, fishing, playground, volleyball, wagon rides and much more. Benner’s have full hook-up sites, primitive sites and group sites. They even have cabins.

River’s Edge Campground

Located in Connellsville Pa, River’s Edge Campground has over 100 full hook-up RV Sites, 50 tent sites, group tenting sites and full service cabin rental. The campground is located right alongside the Youghiogheny River and the Great Allegheney Passage Bike Trail. Activities at the River’s Edge Campground include a swimming pool, hot showers, a game room, laundry facilities, a store and canoe rentals.

It has recently been brought to my attention that many people are looking for lodging for when they visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece, Fallingwater. If you are looking for lodging while you visit Fallingwater, be it a hotel, motel or campground, please visit our section of the site dealing with Fallingwater Lodging.

Keep in mind, the town of Ohiopyle is only a five minute drive south of Fallingwater. Therefore any lodging near Ohiopyle is also near Fallingwater.

A Beautiful Memorial Day Weekend at Ohiopyle State Park

If you are in the area, you MUST come to Ohiopyle this weekend. It is absolutely gorgeous. The weather could not be better. The Lower Youghiogheny River is also above flood stage which makes for some awesome river viewing. Ohiopyle Fallsis especially jaw-dropping. It isn’t often that the Yough gets this high.

Well, try to get to Ohiopyle State Parkto enjoy the outdoors. It is supposed to rain a good bit this week so get out and have some fun at Ohiopyle while the weather is perfect!

Memorial Day Weekend Rafting

Well, Memorial Day Weekend 2008 is upon us. This is the weekend families traditionally head outdoors together. Don’t let this weekend be an exception. Ohiopyle State Park is a great place to bring the families on Memrial Day Weekend.

Many of the outfitters in Ohiopyle are offering rafting specials for Memorial Day weekend. Just visit our their sites and call them for more information.

With its many picnic areas, Ohiopyle is a great place to bring the family this weekend. Up near Kentuck Knob campground there is many picnic areas with grills. There is also a large baseball field up there so make sure you bring the bats, balls and gloves. Or maybe just a good kick ball!

With soo much to do in Ohiopyle State Park you should try to have a gameplan of what you are going to be doing. I noticed on our local weather site that the weather is supposed to be GREAT this weekend so the park will probably be full of people. Make sure you get to the park early for parking.
