Jonathan Run
Jonathan Run is a small creek running through Ohiopyle State Park. Most of the year Jonathan Run is little more than a slow trickle. However, in the Spring, Jonathan Run come become a torrent of white water rushing towards the Lower Youghiogheny River.
Jonathan Run is one of the least visited areas in the park, people do not realize what they are missing out on. Jonathan Run Trail follows the stream starting at the trail head all the way to the Lower Yough. Crossing several bridges, the trail provides excellent views of Jonathan Run including multiple waterfalls. The Trail Head for Jonathan Run starts on Holland Hill Road (see map below).
On your next trip to Ohiopyle State Park, make sure to stop at Jonathan Run. It is a gorgeous place and one of my personal favorites in the entire park.
